Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary:
The Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC) will be assigned to an Army installation to reduce medical attrition and increase Military readiness. SCCs will improve Brigade (BDE) readiness through Army specific functional fitness training programs, in accordance with the (IAW) Field Manual (FM) 7-22 that is designed to meet each Brigade’s Program of Instruction (POI) requirements. Services will target musculoskeletal (MSK) injury prevention and reconditioning education services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as part of the H2F Performance Team to develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive, periodized education and services program, integrated and synchronized with the Brigade and Battalion (BN) training calendars. Success is determined by the ability of the Brigade to perform its combat mission
- Perform services in accordance with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) Scope of Practice
- Embedded at the Brigade level (500-1000 person unit)
- Perform most work in a military training environment (e.g., fitness centers/gyms, BDE or administrative areas, outdoors, ranges, field training environments, and the SPRC)
- Observe Brigade and below (i.e., BN, company, platoon, squad, and team) specific training events (e.g., obstacle courses, combative, and training areas)
- Support quality assurance efforts, ensuring all work performance aligns with H2F objectives
- SCCs may be embedded within H2F Performance Teams across Brigades at various government installations
Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field from an accredited college or university
- Possess a passing score from the NSCA as a CSCS or by the CSCCA as a SCCC
- Three (3) years of relevant SCC work experience within the last five (5) years
- (Relevant experience is defined as developing and executing task/environment-specific functional injury control and health/wellbeing programs for groups of athletes or the DoD/Department of Homeland Security/Department of Justice entities focused on a common sport or mission performance goal. Please note: Employment related to internships or graduate work for only up to one (1) year is considered as relevant experience)
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with Automated External Defibrillators (AED) certification

- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English effectively with soldiers and H2F staff

Position Summary:
Athletico’s Industrial Wellness Specialist - Athletic Trainers are healthcare providers who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and they consult with employees, management, supervisors, and safety directors. Our providers use their background and expertise in musculoskeletal disorders to educate, recommend exercise, and perform ergonomic assessments and intervention strategies to reduce the chances of these disorders developing. In addition,our providers may provide first aid services under the guidelines of OSHA which may include heat/cold application, use of non-rigid supports, and massage to manage symptoms that may develop. Our goal is to keep the body and tissues healthy to maintain the work load. Our providers may work one on one with an employee or in a group setting. They also consult with the employer’s safety director and/or HR manager regarding the status of their visit and to debrief after each onsite visit. It is very important to understand that our providers do not provide treatment services in this setting.
The Onsite Industrial Wellness Specialist may also perform clinic-based services under the direct supervision of clinic therapist.
Travel may be required locally as well as out of state if required to meet client’s requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Specialists may perform the following services onsite in a group setting (note that these services may also be performed one on one with an employee as well):
- Instruction in group stretching/warm-up activities, and other wellness activities.
- Education in proper nutrition, hydration, weight control, and exercise programs.
- Consult with employees and managers regarding ergonomics, work station set up, postural awareness, body mechanics/lifting best practices
- Specialists may perform the following services onsite one on one with an employee:
- Consult one one one with employees when they present to the Wellness Specialist with subjective reports of fatigue and/or soreness. The Specialist may provide first aid intervention based on the Specialists’ screening of the employee’s subjective reports.
- Each specialist that performs massage, first aid services onsite will attain a certification through the Rebuild Program or other comparable training to perform soft tissue massage.
- This first aid intervention is restricted to the following and is within OSHA’s guidelines for first aid: application of heat/cold, use of non-rigid supports, and use of massage.
- The Industrial Wellness Specialist will document their interaction with the employee through use of the attached sign in sheet, and employee weekly tracking sheet or at a minimum a version thereof.
- The Industrial Wellness Specialist will keep a log of these documents onsite and and also maintain a copy in the designated H Drive folder.
- Consults with the Safety Manager and/or HR Manager at least once each time they are onsite which includes consultation at the end of the onsite visit. Consultation includes a synopsis of the day’s intervention activities and consultation with specific employees.
- Utilize knowledge and education to make the rationale, professional judgements during the employee screening process.
- Assist therapists collect objective information to assess injured workers’ safe physical capabilities.
- Perform chart audits to identify training needs.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- NATABOC Certified
- Active member of the NATA preferred
- Current applicable state athletic training license
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Excellent communication and Interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to Customer Service and Quality Improvement.
- Qualified to practice within 6 major domains: Prevention, Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis, Immediate Care, Treatment, Rehabilitation and Reconditioning, Organization and Administration, Professional Responsibility.
- MS Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) experience preferred
- Strong Problem Solving ability/High Degree of Initiative; works well independently.
- Familiarity with rehabilitation/medical terminology preferred.
