Position Summary:

The Senior Analyst, Payor Relations is responsible for using healthcare claims data in data analytics, financial modeling, and Power BI dashboard development. This role will report to the Senior Director, Payor Relations and will use medical claims, operational, and financial data to create and present analysis and insights on payor contracts, financial & operational performance, and strategic initiatives.

 

This position will be a hybrid role and must be onsite 3 days a week in Oak Brook, IL. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Analyze payor mix, reimbursement trends, and operational performance across payor contracts and geographies and recommend potential actions to Payor Relations leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare complex financial models on payor contracts and reimbursement changes to inform strategy and decision making.
  • Translate complex analytics into clear, actionable strategies and effectively communicate to business stakeholders in Payor Relations, Finance, Accounting, Revenue Cycle Management, and Field Operations.
  • Develop and lead execution of methodology to validate reimbursement received against contractual terms with third party payors.
  • Conduct strategic and quantitative analyses to identify key insights and support the implementation of growth initiatives.
  • Design and maintain Power BI dashboards that track and trend key performance metrics for Payor Relations leadership team and other teams, as needed.
  • Maintain rigorous standards for data accuracy, standardization, and clarity in all analytical assignments.
  • Research and analyze competitive dynamics and industry segments and trends.
  • Provides support in managing projects to advance company and divisional objectives.
  • Partner with business stakeholders on ad-hoc analysis needed to support business objectives and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Education:  
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
  • Work Experience:
    • 4+ years of analytics, FP&A, healthcare operations, or similar experience; experience in Physical Therapy, rehab, or outpatient settings preferred.
    • Experience working with contracts or data related to managed care payors, government programs, workers’ compensation, and third-party payors.
    • Proven track record of using data analytics to identify issues, trends, or exceptions that improve business decision-making and outcomes.
  • Knowledge and Technical Skills:
    • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
    • Strong attention to detail and drive for accuracy.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.
    • Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and interpret results.
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to use of VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, conditional formulas and formatting to solve analytical problems.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to fulfill office activities including but not limited to remain stationary for extended periods of time (i.e., while working at a desk), stoop/kneel/crouch, travel around the office, communicate with others (verbal and written), and use fine motor skills including fine hand manipulation and keyboarding.
  • Ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment: 

  • Consistent with a standard office environment, noise level is low with little to no extraordinary environmental factors.

USD $65,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary/Wage

USD $75,000.00/Yr.
