Position Summary:
The Workers’ Compensation Care Manager is responsible for the ownership and ongoing development of customer relationships post-engagment. This role will foster the maintenance and growth of existing customer relationships, assist the Sales Team in developing new customer relationships, and provide end-to-end support for the Employer Solutions Services, Workers Compensation, and Sales Teams. The Workers’ Compensation Care Manager serves as a regional point of contact for employers, case managers, networks, and physicians to drive adoption through value realization, resolving issues as they arise in real time, and identifying expansion opportunities to grow the account to ensure a likely renewal.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as primary point of contact for new customers post-engagement
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining broad and deep customer relationships to promote business growth, profitability and strong customer loyalty
  • Partners with sales executives regionally to ensure they are informed about issues, support escalations and events of assigned customers
  • Perform Workers’ Compensation case audits and communicate information related to plan of care compliance, best practice benchmarks, return to work outcomes, and case resolution with providers and external stakeholders
  • Provide project support to Workers Compensation field teams and Resource Center Workers’ Compensation stakeholders with regard to new business development from existing and prospective clients
  • Manage escalations with revenue cycle management and clinical teams for delayed authorizations, claims denials, prescription renewals that impacts customer relationships
  • Hosts Sales and Marketing seminars, in-services, health fairs, and other events, to maximize exposure of the Athletico Employer Solutions program and services to employers, case managers, networks, and physicians
  • Facilitate regional Workers Compensation and Employer Solutions Services team communication including routine engagement with program managers and the Sales team
  • Maintain customer relation satisfaction by addressing customer questions, responding to feedback, referring customers to appropriate internal resources, and scheduling calls with customers as needed
  • Maintain and coordinate agreements and invoice accounts for assigned employers
  • Drive customer loyalty by engaging in regular customer interaction, anticipating
    customer needs and providing proactive solutions
  • Run weekly and monthly reports for Workers’ Compensation and Employer Solutions Services

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Work Experience:
    • 2 years of medical office administration experience required
    • 2 years of Workers’ Compensation scheduling experience preferred
    • 2 years of experience in a sales/account management role preferred
    • Knowledge of CRM systems (such as Salesforce.com, SalesLoft) or research platforms preferred

  • Certification/Licensure:
    • Certified Case Manager designation preferred

  • Knowledge and Technical Skills:
    • Jurisdiction specific workers compensation payment system policies and process
    • Familiar with ICD-10 and treatment diagnosis coding
    • Experience maintaining strong relationships with senior members of client organizations, addressing their needs, and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction
    • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
    • Ability to work in a fluid environment
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Familiar with medical terminology
    • Proficient with Microsoft 365

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

Work Environment: 

  • Consistent with a standard office environment, noise level is low with little to no extraordinary environmental factors.
  • May be required to complete activities in an outdoor setting at company sponsored events.
