Position Summary

The Scheduling Coordinator will oversee scheduling of clinical services. The Coordinator will also be responsible for patient correspondence and general customer requests.  The Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring scheduling services and expectations are upheld and consistent for Athletico.

Responsibilities

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute best practices and standard operation procedures for all centralized scheduling activities, processes and systems.
  • Provide high level of customer service to all internal and external Athletico customers.
  • Answer phones/emails, and respond to phone, email and faxed scheduling requests from patients and referral sources in a timely fashion.
  • Assist with problem solving and resolving any scheduling issues.
  • Provide customer assistance and respond to all customer/patient inquires, complaints, concerns and questions regarding scheduling requests and services.
  • Track and report all centralized scheduling calls as it relates to scheduling activity.
  • Assist with marketing of centralized scheduling.
  • Obtains payments by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient payments
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
  • Contacts patients, insurance companies, and doctor’s offices as needed
  • Verifies patient insurance eligibility
  • Communicates with billing department and provides requested information as needed

Qualifications

Job Requirements/SpecificationsEducation and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and some scheduling experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and Interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to Customer Service and Quality Improvement.
  • Strong Computer Skills (Word, Excel).
  • Strong Problem Solving ability/High Degree of Initiative; works well independently.
  • Familiarity with rehabilitation/medical terminology preferred.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds 
  • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)
