Overview

Position Summary:

Working closely with the Operations teams and vendors, responsible for provisioning, installing/configuring, operating, maintaining and monitoring Athletico’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure including systems, voice, radio, network hardware/software and related peripherals to ensure all server, storage, and networking equipment is operating optimally. The IT Engineer will also act as the first responder for all technical and facility related issues within the data center.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute planned Change Controls during evening/afterhours change windows for requests and planned maintenance
  • Plan, design, and implement additions, upgrades, replacements, or retirements of network and communications IT infrastructure
  • Maintain / Operate automation platforms including PowerShell and Linux Shell script creation and modification
  • Maintain / Operate backup and failover systems including backup verification, Restore / replica testing and Object restoration as needed
  • Maintain and produce documentation including System configuration, Build process, Run books
  • Maintain and operate Infrastructure systems including File/Print, Citrix Xen App, DNS/DHCP/Active Directory, VMWare, MS Exchange/MS SQL Server
  • Maintain and operate Infrastructure monitoring systems
  • Monitor network components/systems/applications for potential service outages or equipment failures and document events via event management system as they occur

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Work Experience:
    • 5 years in IT Operations Support role
    • 3 years of experience with desktops, laptops, peripheral devices and basic networking skills
    • 1 year of experience with programming languages or scripting languages like Bash, Python or PowerShell
  • Certification/Licensure: None Required
  • Knowledge and Technical Skills:
    • Experience with automated configuration management such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef
    • Working knowledge with at least one of the following: IIS, MySQL or PHP configurations
    • Sound knowledge of
      • TCP/IP networking and operating environments such as Unix, Windows, and Linux, VMWare, MS Exchange, SCCM, and SharePoint
      • Network and server security and monitoring
      • Virtualization concepts, storage devices such as SAN, NAS, etc.
      • Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures (COBIT and ITIL), including Change Management, Software/Systems Development Life Cycle for application development and management

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to fulfill office activities including but not limited to remain stationary for extended periods of time (i.e. while working at a desk), stoop/kneel/crouch, travel around the office, communicate with others (verbal and written), and use fine motor skills including fine hand manipulation and keyboarding.
  • Ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment: 

  • Consistent with a standard office environment, noise level is low with little to no extraordinary environmental factors.
